The Three of Swords is heartbreak: grief, painful truth and emotional hurt. It is one of the hardest cards, but it describes pain that is honest and can heal. The hurt is usually tied to a clear cause — words said, a truth revealed, a loss — rather than a vague sadness.
Healing, releasing pain or refusing to acknowledge a hurt.
Reversed, healing begins: recovering from heartbreak, forgiveness and releasing old pain. It can also mean old grief resurfacing so it can finally be let go.
