The short version

You can use every calculator on this site without telling us who you are. There is nothing you have to sign up for. The birth date you type into a chart calculator is used to compute the page you asked for and is not retained afterward — it is not in a database, not in a mailing list, and not for sale.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) and Yandex Metrica (Yandex Oy) to see which pages get used and where the site is broken. These providers set their own cookies and receive your IP address, from which they derive an approximate location. We do not receive your name, email or precise location from them, and we do not attempt to re-identify visitors.

You can turn analytics off at any time from the cookie policy. After that, those scripts are not loaded on your device at all — not loaded-but-limited, not loaded.

Advertising

The site is funded by advertising served by Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited in the EEA and UK, Google LLC elsewhere). Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising:

• from Google, in Google's Ads Settings;
• from other vendors that use cookies for it, at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, advertising cookies are set only after you agree in Google's consent message, and personalized ads are shown only with that consent. The advertising cookies themselves are listed in the cookie policy.

Email letters

If you ask for the Sky Calendar or another letter, and only then, we store your email address with the page and topic you signed up for, the dates you signed up and confirmed, and a shortened one-way hash of your IP address, used to stop the form being abused. Nothing is sent beyond the confirmation email until you click its link.

• Letters go out from our own mail server; no newsletter service receives the list.
• The address is never sold, rented or shared.
• Every letter has a one-click unsubscribe. After you use it, the address is marked as unsubscribed and gets nothing more; write to us and we will delete it entirely.

Legal basis

Under the GDPR, our basis for analytics is legitimate interest in knowing which pages are used and where the site is broken (Article 6(1)(f)); you can object at any time by turning analytics off on the cookie policy page. Our basis for advertising cookies, where they are used, is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), and so is our basis for email letters: you give it when you confirm the address and withdraw it by unsubscribing. Serving the page you requested relies on legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) and involves no cookies.

How long anything is kept

Calculator input: not kept. Analytics data: retained by the providers under their own schedules — Google Analytics is configured to the shortest available retention, after which event-level data is deleted. Your analytics choice: stored on your device until you clear it or it expires after twelve months. Your email address, if you gave one: until you ask us to delete it; after you unsubscribe it is kept only marked as unsubscribed.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. If you are in California, you have the right to know what is collected, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing — we do not sell personal information.

In practice, the honest answer to most requests is that we hold nothing tied to you, unless you subscribed to a letter, in which case it is the email record described above. Write to [email protected] and we will tell you precisely what exists. You may also complain to your national data protection authority.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided personal information, write to us and we will remove it.

International transfers

Our analytics and advertising providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page updates. We do not backdate changes.
