Houses are not perfectly even in a sample of 600 dates — each share carries about ±2.3 percentage points of sampling noise, which is why the shares run from 6.8% to 10% rather than a flat 8.33%.

How this chart is built

Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac — measured against the fixed stars rather than the tropical equinox. The gap between the two systems is the ayanamsa, currently about 24°, and it grows by roughly 50 arcseconds a year. Every position here is the tropical longitude minus that value, which is why most of your planets land one sign earlier than in a Western chart.

Houses are whole signs: the lagna’s entire sign is the first bhava, the next sign the second, and so on. This is the classical Indian method and it differs from the quadrant systems used in the West, where houses have unequal sizes and a planet can sit in a house belonging to a different sign.

Rahu and Ketu are the lunar nodes — the intersections of the Moon’s orbit with the ecliptic, exactly 180° apart. They are not bodies, they are geometry, and their mean motion always runs backwards. Labeling them retrograde is therefore meaningless, which is why this chart marks them differently from the planets.

The navamsa or D9 chart divides each sign into nine parts of 3°20′ — the same divisions as the nakshatra padas. Every graha above carries its navamsa sign. It is often sold as a separate report, and there is no need for that: once the pada is known the navamsa is a lookup.
