Strength. Lifts other people as a default setting. Teaches by conduct rather than instruction.

Cost. The rarest number, and the heaviest — self-sacrifice arrives disguised as virtue.

Not a higher score

Master numbers are described as carrying more potential and more strain in equal measure. Every serious account of them spends as long on the difficulty as the gift — and a Life Path 2 that stays a 2 is not a lesser version of an 11.

Why these three

They are the repeated digits below 10 — 11, 22 and 33 — read as doubled versions of 1, 2 and 3 and therefore as intensified forms of the single digits they reduce to: 2, 4 and 6. Some practitioners extend the list to 44 and beyond; most do not, on the grounds that the pattern was never meant to run indefinitely.

Where they appear and where they vanish

A master number only survives if it turns up as a total. If your day, month and year reduce to 11, that 11 stays. If the sum arrives at 29 and only then reduces to 11, most practitioners keep it too — but a great many online calculators do not, which is why the same birth date produces different Life Paths on different sites.

Personal years have none

The Personal Year cycle runs 1 to 9 and repeats. Master numbers are not read in it — an 11 there is simply a 2. The cycle is about the phase you are in, and phases repeat.
