Two things combined in the right proportion. Patience, gradual adjustment and the avoidance of extremes.
Temperance is balance and patience: blending opposites, moderation and finding the middle way. An angel pours water between two cups. The card describes healing, calm and slow progress that works because it is not forced.
Excess or imbalance. Something has been overdone, or two elements that will not mix are being forced together.
Reversed, balance is lost: excess, impatience, conflict or going to extremes. It can also mean a need to rebalance your life before moving on.
