Worth knowing: it is the single most frequent arcana in the entire method, appearing in 5.88% of all positions across all birth dates, and it is the most common central card there is.
Builds structures that hold without supervision — systems, companies, households that run. Decides quickly and lives with the decision. Reliable in the specific way that matters: the thing that was promised exists on the date it was promised.
Structure outlives its purpose and gets defended anyway, because changing it would concede an error. Authority applied where persuasion was needed, so competence starts reading as rigidity. Second mode: refusing authority altogether and leaving a vacuum others fill badly.
Needs clear jurisdiction — a domain where the decisions are genuinely its own. Ambiguous authority is more corrosive to this arcana than heavy responsibility.
The work is building structures that can be amended without collapsing, including by successors. Where it lands: management, law, engineering, military and public administration, anything where the value is that the framework holds.
The line hands down authority — someone who ran things, well or badly — and with it a template for command that has to be examined rather than inherited whole.
Organised and purposeful: planned itineraries, historic cities, sailing. Unstructured time makes this arcana restless rather than rested.
Provides and protects, and demonstrates commitment through arrangements rather than words. Works best with a partner who negotiates directly, since deference will be accepted by default.
The most consistent builder of the 22 — accumulates through structure, contracts and discipline. Risk is over-leverage on the assumption that control extends to conditions it does not.
