The Golden Wheel Dream-Book, under “Crow”
“A crow indicates expedition in business, adultery, or a thief; if croaking, an ill omen; if it flies on to the head of a child, the child will be in great danger of a misfortune.”
Felix Fontaine, The Golden Wheel Dream-Book and Fortune-Teller (New York: Dick & Fitzgerald, 1862) — read the original text. Like other American dream books of its time, Fontaine read dreams as omens and attached lottery numbers to them; under “Crow” it printed 74, 6. Today’s dream dictionaries still echo readings like this one.
