“To dream of large flocks of sheep, is a sign of thrift and abundance, particularly to farmers, to whom the omen promises large crops: if many of the sheep have young lambs, it foretells domestic happiness and an excellent crop of children.”

Like other American dream books of its time, Fontaine read dreams as omens and attached lottery numbers to them; under “Sheep” it printed 12, 5, 60. Today’s dream dictionaries still echo readings like this one.
