Aura colour

Yellow Aura

Read as confidence, wit and visible enjoyment. A real wavelength, 570–590 nanometres.

Checked against the visible spectrum

Yellow is a real colour of light

Wavelength 570–590 nm
Width of the band 20 nm of the visible 370
Chakra Solar plexus — one of only 8 covered

A narrow band of the spectrum — just 20 nanometres wide, against 75 for green — which is why yellow reads as sharp and specific. The solar plexus chakra, associated with will and self-assurance.

Light and dark yellow

These two are not symmetrical, and it goes the opposite way to how it looks. Dark yellow is the same wavelength with less light — still pure. Light yellow is that wavelength plus every other one, because white is all of them. The pale version is the mixed version.

Light yellow

Adding white light, which means adding every other wavelength alongside the 570–590 nm band. So a light yellow aura is, in physical terms, less purely yellow than the standard one — the hue is diluted, not brightened. Read as confidence, wit and visible enjoyment held more lightly.

Dark yellow

The identical wavelength at lower intensity — fewer photons, same frequency. Dark yellow is therefore the only one of the two that is still purely yellow: nothing has been added to it, only removed. Read as brightness kept up past the point of honesty — the strained version.

Questions about the yellow aura

What does a yellow aura mean?

Confidence, wit and visible enjoyment. The shadow side is brightness kept up past the point of honesty.

Is yellow a real colour of light?

Yes. It occupies 570–590 nanometres of the visible spectrum — 20 nm out of the roughly 370 the eye can see — so a single frequency of light produces it.

Which chakra is yellow?

The Solar plexus chakra. Only 8 of the 31 colours people search for as auras map onto a chakra at all — the system covers seven positions, not the whole palette.

How rare is a yellow aura?

Unanswerable — auras are not counted anywhere. What is countable is interest: 38,860 searches a month, rank 9 of 31.
