Aura colour

Green Aura

Read as growth, repair and the instinct to tend things. A real wavelength, 495–570 nanometres.

Checked against the visible spectrum

Green is a real colour of light

Wavelength 495–570 nm
Width of the band 75 nm of the visible 370
Chakra Heart — one of only 8 covered

Sits at the centre of the visible spectrum, where the human eye is most sensitive — we distinguish more shades of green than of any other colour. Also the heart chakra, and read as healing and balance.

Light and dark green

These two are not symmetrical, and it goes the opposite way to how it looks. Dark green is the same wavelength with less light — still pure. Light green is that wavelength plus every other one, because white is all of them. The pale version is the mixed version.

Light green

Adding white light, which means adding every other wavelength alongside the 495–570 nm band. So a light green aura is, in physical terms, less purely green than the standard one — the hue is diluted, not brightened. Read as growth, repair and the instinct to tend things held more lightly.

Dark green

The identical wavelength at lower intensity — fewer photons, same frequency. Dark green is therefore the only one of the two that is still purely green: nothing has been added to it, only removed. Read as caretaking that quietly buys obligation — the strained version.

Questions about the green aura

What does a green aura mean?

Growth, repair and the instinct to tend things. The shadow side is caretaking that quietly buys obligation.

Is green a real colour of light?

Yes. It occupies 495–570 nanometres of the visible spectrum — 75 nm out of the roughly 370 the eye can see — so a single frequency of light produces it.

Which chakra is green?

The Heart chakra. Only 8 of the 31 colours people search for as auras map onto a chakra at all — the system covers seven positions, not the whole palette.

How rare is a green aura?

Unanswerable — auras are not counted anywhere. What is countable is interest: 70,670 searches a month, rank 4 of 31.
