The rarest type, with no defined centers at all. Reflectors are described as sampling and amplifying whatever is around them, which makes environment and company unusually decisive. The strategy is to let a major decision sit through a full lunar cycle of about 28 days.
The "not-self theme" is the system's diagnostic: persistent disappointment is read as a sign of operating against the strategy rather than as a character flaw.

What makes someone a Reflector
A Reflector has all nine centers undefined — no fixed channels at all. The system describes their aura as resistant and sampling: it takes in the energy of the people and places around it, reflects it back, and never keeps it. Because the Moon moves through all 64 gates in about 28 days, the lunar cycle becomes the Reflector's only consistent pattern.

Wait a full lunar cycle, in practice
Waiting a lunar cycle means letting a major decision — a move, a marriage, a job — sit for roughly four weeks while talking it over with trusted people in different settings. The Reflector is advised to notice how the decision feels as the Moon activates different parts of the chart, and to decide only when that feeling is stable.

Described as a barometer for the health of a group: a Reflector who feels well in a team is read as a sign that the team itself is well. The right environment is treated as more important than the task.

Rarity is often turned into specialness. In the system, being a Reflector describes sensitivity to surroundings, not a higher status.
Human Design was published by Ra Uru Hu in 1987 and combines the I Ching, astrology, the Kabbalah and the chakra system. The type descriptions above are the system's own claims; none of them has been tested scientifically. A correct type also depends on an exact birth time and a full ephemeris, which is why this site explains the types rather than calculating a chart.
