Why it belongs to November
In Japan the chrysanthemum is the emblem of the imperial family, whose throne is called the Chrysanthemum Throne. In France, Belgium and Italy it is the flower placed on graves for All Saints' Day on November 1, so it reads as a funeral flower there.

Red for love, yellow for friendship (though in some countries yellow suggests neglect), white for loyalty and honesty.

Cut chrysanthemums often last two weeks or more; remove leaves below the waterline and change the water every few days.
