Soul Urge number

What you actually want when nobody is watching.

Also called Heart's Desire. Calculated from the vowels in your name — the sounds you cannot make silently — it describes motivation rather than behaviour.

Calculate yours

Soul Urge 1 — The Initiator

What you want, privately, is to be the author of your own life. Not admiration — authorship. Being managed is what actually stings.

Soul Urge 2 — The Diplomat

What you want is harmony and a genuine partner. Not an audience — someone on the same side, who does not have to be persuaded.

Soul Urge 4 — The Builder

What you want is solid ground. Predictability is not timidity — it is the condition under which you can finally relax.

How the Soul Urge number fits the rest

A chart is read as a set, not a single number. The Life Path describes the road; Expression describes what you brought to walk it with; Soul Urge describes what you actually want; Personality describes what other people see on the way.

Contradictions between them are the interesting part. A Life Path 4 with a Soul Urge 5 describes someone building carefully while privately wanting to leave — which is a more useful observation than either number alone.
